    LD2 is a category of smoke and heat alarm coverage that includes all circulation spaces (hallways and landings) plus any room where a fire is most likely to start, such as the kitchen and living room.
    Yes. Since 1 February 2022 it has been mandatory for every home in Scotland, owned or rented, to have an interlinked LD2 smoke and heat alarm system fitted.
    They must be interlinked, and either mains-powered or fitted with a tamper-proof, sealed 10-year battery. We can advise which option suits your property.
